WAKEFIELD/LAUREL – The Nebraska Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin road work in two northeast Nebraska towns during the week of Monday, September 11.
The NDOT, will work on N-16 south of Wakefield and begin milling on US-20 near Laurel.
The project in Wakefield begins at the N-16/N-35 junction and extends eight and one-half miles south. Work will include bridge deck repair and asphalt overlay. Travel will be reduced to one lane and traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals while the bridge decks are repaired. Work is anticipated to be completed in late fall.
Near Laurel, the project will begin at Laurel and end two miles west of Belden. Travel will be reduced to one lane and traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Work is anticipated to be completed late Thursday afternoon, September 14.
Both projects will be weather permitting.
