LINCOLN – The unemployment rate in the Norfolk area continued its downward trend in April.
State labor statistics released Friday show that the area comprised of Madison, Stanton and Pierce counties saw its unemployment rate fall from 2.9 percent in March to 2.5 percent in April.
Employers in the Norfolk area added 90 jobs over the last month, with the biggest gains coming in construction and retail.
The 2.5 unemployment is slightly lower than last April. Nebraska’s statewide unemployment rate stood at 3 percent, down a tenth from March.
