NORFOLK, NE — The Norfolk Family YMCA continues to make big strides in raising money for their campaign.
Wednesday Black Hills Energy gave a $50,000 check to the YMCA. That money will help fund their new $14 million expansion project.
So far the campaign has brought in $8 million dollars.
In order to get the first two of a three phrase project rolling, a minimum of $10 million need to be raised. For phase three an additional $4 million will need to be raised to build an additional swimming pool.
Currently the YMCA holds 4,000 but with the expansion project it will be able to double in capacity.
The expansion project includes a fitness/wellness center, multi-purpose field house which will spotlight artificial turf, two gymnasiums and a large indoor track.
