NORFOLK, NE — Mother nature dumped more snow on northeast Nebraska on Wednesday morning.
This storm… caught the area off guard more than others from this season, as meteorologists snowfall estimations climbed throughout Tuesday. Plow driver Travis Amen says this snowfall was easier to handle.
“I’d call it six inches, maybe a little more,” Amen said. “As long as the wind stays it will move off real easy. It’s a lot lighter than last time so we’re doing good today.”
The National Weather Service reports between five and eight inches of snow fell in the region with Oakdale receiving the highest recorded total at 7.5 inches. Initial projections were guessing around one to three inches. For Amen, he says his crew can handle it all.
“No big deal. A foot, six inches, whatever we’re supposed to do. We’ll move an inch of snow if we have to,” Amen said. “And not to mention, it’s supposed to be 68 degrees on Friday. You know what? That’s going to melt things real quick.”
