FREMONT – Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) are continuing their special operations around Husker football gamedays as the home schedule resumes on Saturday.
For the final four home games of the Husker season, Troopers will be on the road and in the air to help provide safe roadways before and after the games. NSP Troop H will also conduct special enforcements focusing on traffic in several counties around the Lincoln area during the remaining home games. The troopers will focus on increased traffic in Cass, Gage, Lancaster, Otoe, Saunders, and Seward counties, as the increase in the volume of traffic raises the potential for crashes.
NSP’s Aviation Support Division will also be in the air to provide assistance to the troopers and local law enforcement on the ground. They’ll provide traffic reports before and after each home game on the Husker Sports Network’s radio broadcast.
NSP says voluntary compliance with all traffic safety laws help to keep traffic moving smoothly, and drivers should buckle up, obey the posted speed limit, and never drive impaired or distracted.
