Operation EMPLOY Invites Job Seekers

WAYNE – Mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 3 as there will be a special hiring event put on by the Wayne Area Economic Development Office.

Operation EMPLOY is scheduled for next Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. taking place at the Wayne Fire Hall, located at 510 Tomar Dr.

Executive Director with WAED, Luke Virgil said it’s basically a job fair.

“If you’re a job seeker be sure to come out to the Fire Hall,” said Virgil. “We’ve got a whole lot of our local employers that are always seeking something that are going to be out there.”

As of this past Tuesday, WAED was still accepting employers who want to hire and are inviting job seekers to attend. Also, as of Tuesday the following business were listed to participate.

First National Bank of Omaha (Wayne Center); Brookdale of Wayne, Providence Medical Center; Great Dane Trailers; Wayne Community Housing; Aventure Staffing; Wayne State College; Northstar Services; Wayne Community Schools and Gerhold Concrete.

For questions call 402-370-3430.

On the “View from Wayne America” radio show earlier this week Virgil talked with Dan about his third week on the job as Executive Director.

“So, I felt familiar, but you don’t understand what’s going on until you kind of walk in the office or walk in the Director’s shoes and you start seeing the different projects or the different committees,” Virgil added.

Virgil is looking forward to learning as much and as fast as he can so he can make an impact on the community.
