WAYNE – A check presentation was held late last week after proceeds from the October Pink Flamingo Nite raised money for breast cancer awareness.

In an email from Providence Medical Center Foundation President, Sandra Bartling a check for $2,000 was given to PMC Foundation from Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. The church hosted their annual Pink Flamingo Night in early October where a light meal was provided, there was music, a style show and speakers.

The funds have been designated for the Providence Medical Center Oncology Department.

Bartling said, “all of us at PMC send a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved with the Pink Flamingo Nite event. There is so much careful thought, time and effort put into this awareness fundraiser by Kim and the entire committee.”

Presenting the check to Bartling was Kim Dunklau, Pink Flamingo Nite committee member.

Barling also added, “you all play a very important part in making the event such a successful one. Please know how much you’ve helped our oncology patients with this awesome donation, and how appreciative we are of your kindness. Thank you again for remembering Providence Medical Center.”
