Our Savior Lutheran Unloading for ‘The Christmas Gift’

NORFOLK, NE — Our Savior Lutheran members spend Sunday getting ready for their Christmas Gift Shopping Blitz for the less fortunate.

Several different rooms at Our Savior Lutheran were booming with toys and growing as members unloaded toys from Thursdays shopping trip at Wal-Mart and other area stores.

“Right now they are blitzing through the hallways and setting up for and dividing the toys by age group so when we set them up in the store we will make it easier for parents to see what toys will be there for the age group of their kids…”

Last year $28,000 was spent so that over 500 families of need could go shopping pennies on the dollar, according to Miller.

Once the toys are inventoried the crew will go back out and get more toys where they see fit.

This will be the first ministry at the new location of Our Savior Lutheran, and both Taylor and Miller look forward to serving those in need.

You can go Christmas Shopping on December 8 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m and on Saturday December 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2420 West Omaha Avenue.

This year almost 1,000 toys have been brought and the church plans to go out and buy 400 more.
