FREMONT – The City of Fremont plans to start construction on Park Avenue Improvements from 2nd Street to Military Avenue next week.
Beginning the week of September 11th, construction work will take place from 2nd Street and continue north until weather is no longer suitable for the work. The general improvements this fall will include the reconstruction of sidewalks, driveways, curb and gutter, on-street parking, and street lighting.
Weather permitting, the improvements at the intersection of 4th Street are anticipated to begin on October 1st. The work would include total reconstruction of the intersection, along with storm sewer work. All of the remaining work that is not completed in 2017 will resume in the Spring of 2018.
With the exception of construction at the intersection of 4th Street and Park Avenue, through traffic is to be maintained during the work with lane closures anticipated during daytime hours. On-street parking adjacent to the construction will be temporarily restricted. Park Avenue and 4th Street will be closed to through traffic during construction on the intersection, and will be detoured. Driveway and pedestrian access along Park Avenue will be temporarily restricted during construction activities.
