FREMONT – The Fremont Police Department wants to remind citizens to refrain from parking on designated snow routes when a snow emergency is declared.
With the possibility of snowfall reaching or exceeding four inches on Thursday, the city could potentially need to declare a snow emergency. In the event of such a declaration, parking on designated snow routes is prohibited.
If a snow emergency is declared Fremont Police officers will attempt to contact the owners of any vehicles parked on the designated routes. If officers are unable to contact the owners, the vehicles can be towed at the owner’s expense and the owner can be ticketed.
Fremont residents living on or near designated snow routes are encouraged to stay appraised of weather forecasts in the event a snow emergency may be declared.
