WAYNE – Every year the patrons of Wayne and northeast Nebraska get ready for the annual Pheasants Forever Logan Creek Chapter Banquet. Committee members were able to preview the event during Chamber Coffee Friday morning.
Located at 220 Pearl Street in Wayne, the City Auditorium will be the host site for the 27th annual Banquet and community members joined in during Chamber Coffee.
Jim Modrell has been the Logan Creek Chapter President for seven years. Modrell talked about the committee put a lot of work in setting up the banquet.
“We’re really blessed in this community,” said Modrell. “Because we have a lot of the businesses that do really support us and without them it would be really hard to put on this banquet.”
As of Thursday late afternoon, there were roughly 240 tickets sold and that’s about capacity. Last year there were about 210 tickets sold.
Tables, prints and games were all set up Thursday night with the rest of the games and raffle items being set up throughout the day Friday.
There will still be several prints out for bid, but there will be some other unique items.
“We’re also going to have a fishing trip this year again, “said Modrell. “It’s not even a fishing trip, it’s more of a family vacation because it’s up to six people. This is at Lake Winnibigoshish in Minnesota.”
If you have a ticket to the event get there in plenty of time, as doors open at 5:30 p.m. from the City Auditorium for social time with games and tables set up until 7 p.m. when dinner begins. Raffles and Auctions will follow dinner.
