Register Today For Leadership Wayne IX

WAYNE – Leadership Wayne is back for its ninth year and is open for “students” to register.

Leadership Wayne is for those working in the City of Wayne, who would like to know more about the City of Wayne or are just interested in developing their leadership skills and more.

Assistant Director for Wayne Area Economic Development, Irene Fletcher talks about the reasoning of Leadership Wayne.

“We feel that in order to stay successful and stay vibrant, like Wayne does, have to cultivate and grow new leaders,” said Fletcher.

Class size is limited to 20, so there were a few students who were allowed in from last year who didn’t get in.

Application forms can be picked up at the WAED office at 108 W 3rd St. or by clicking the link below.

Courses are held the second Tuesday of the month starting in September running through May lasting from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Each time the group meets, they meet at a different location around Wayne.

“A part of that is to expose our students of all the things that are available in the community,” Fletcher added. “All the different styles of meetings and arrangements, food services; things like that.”

Also, every month there will be a different topic all relating to leadership goals.

Cost is $159 per person, lunch is provided each time, including a visit to the State Capitol in February.

“ Many employers do pay the enrolment fee for their employees to attend as well as allowing them to take time off from work to do that,” Fletcher mentioned. “We also have students who’ve felt that it was something that they wanted to do and that opportunity was not available to them and they paid for it out of their own pocket.”
