MADISON, NE — A leaky skylight at the Madison County Courthouse will soon see repairs.
The skylight that sits in the rotunda of the court house has had minor leaks on occasion over the last several years.
Madison County Commissioner Christian Ohl says that it hasn’t been too much of a problem, just one they would like to fix.
“It’s more of a problem during the spring or summer when it’s raining hard and the wind is really blowing in the right right direction. It’s not something we are going to expect to see any issues in the winter. It’s something that’s been a slow problem for the last several years and we want to make sure it gets taken care of.”
The issue that comes with the repair according to Ohl is whether or not to replace the entire skylight or make repairs where they need to be made.
The commissioners say they have an engineer who is working on it and is working on getting bids now to get a contractor.
Ohl says they hope to have it repaired by spring or summer.
