LAUREL – According to a press release from the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office, a Friday afternoon traffic accident has left a Coleridge man dead.
At approximately 4:12 p.m., the Sheriff’s office received a report of a one-vehicle accident on highway 15 approximately one mile south of Laurel. Dennis Brodersen, 66, of Coleridge was southbound when the vehicle crossed the center line, left the roadway and struck a farm field entrance. The vehicle vaulted and came to rest on its roof. Brodersen was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the press release, seatbelts were in use at the time of the accident.
Laurel Fire and EMS responded to the scene and the Laurel Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol assisted. The accident remains under investigation by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office.
