From the Wayne Jr/Sr High School library, board members heard from Capp Peterson with Northeast Nebraska Insurance Agency.

Peterson presented to the board a property and casualty insurance quote from EMC Insurance Companies. After some discussion of taking a look at other insurance companies to compare their bid to, the board approved the cost of $109,606 for the total package with the potential adjusted based on payroll.

The board made a note to discuss next year’s property and casualty insurance quote during their March 2018 meeting.

Wayne Community Schools will be purchasing a 2016 Expedition for $28,191 from their depreciation fund. The School will trade in their 2005 Ford Free Star for $800 through Arnies and use Van #17, green Mini Star for the preschool.

Earlier in the meeting, Wayne Area Economic Development Assistant Director Irene Fletcher presented a check to the Wayne Community Schools Foundation. The $1,326 check came from the fourth annual Taste of Victory Tailgate in early September during a Wayne High football game. Six chefs competed for the honor with attendees voting with their money on who would win. All proceeds were donated to the Wayne Community Schools Foundation.

Board members also approved a $555 per month charge for Gill Hauling refuse removal, a $500 set-up fee and $2,500 annual fee for Sparq Data Solution Tier 2 as well as an annual fee of $975 for National School Board Association.
