Stolen Car, Hit-and-Run Investigated By Police

FREMONT – A stolen vehicle is being sought by Fremont Police after it was taken over the weekend.

FPD were called to the 800 block of N. Christy Street at approximately 5:49 p.m. Sunday on reports of a silver 2005 Ford Freestyle that was missing from that location and reported stolen from a residence. The Freestyle has a license plate number of 5-C5605. The estimated value of the vehicle is approximately $5,000.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle are asked to contact Fremont Crimestoppers at 402-727-4002 or submit a tip via the Fremont Police Department’s Facebook page.

Fremont Police cited two people after a hit-and-run accident on Friday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 200 block of N. Main Street at approximately 2:17 p.m. Friday on reports of a hit-and-run that had taken place. Officers responded and noted that a black 2003 Toyota Corolla had been struck, causing approximately $500 in damage. A vehicle of interest and driver were soon located and as a result 20-year old Enrique V. Ortiz of Fremont was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and for having no operator’s license.

However, the driver of the vehicle struck was also cited. 22-year old Domingo R. Alonzo of Fremont was cited for having no proof of insurance of the vehicle.
