FREMONT – The Board of Education for Fremont Public Schools will start their first 2018 meeting off with reorganizing the board.
The process will begin with the adjournment of the outgoing board members before moving into the election of officers. Officers on the board serve one year terms. The board will receive nominations and hold elections for the positions of President, Vice-President, and Secretary. They will then appoint the Board Treasurer and Board Clerk.
Other items on their agenda include committee appointments for the board. They will also discuss and possibly take action on an inter-local agreement with the City of Fremont. At their last meeting the board approved the drafting of the agreement to identify interest in the parcel of land on the southwest corner of Military Avenue and Johnson Road, appraise the value, and identify additional parcels that could be considered for a like-value exchange.
The Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 8th.
