FREMONT – The Rescue Tour with Dave Anderson and Roger Walck is coming to Fremont on Sunday.

The Rescue Tour will begin at 6 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church. Dave Anderson and Roger Walck will perform music that is a blend of contemporary, gospel, hymns, and a lot of old-time Sunday School songs.

Along with playing music, Dave Anderson will also share stories about his personal experiences from having traveled over four million miles in the past 35 years of concert ministry. Director of Worship and Music at Salem Lutheran Church, Jeff Hoffman says one of the stories Anderson will tell includes he and his wife Barbara living through a life-threatening disaster. A story which has been heard by millions around the world.

“They were doing a humanitarian mission to the Russian Far East, and were flying back across the Bering Sea. Their plane crashed into the sea,” said Hoffman. “They were miraculously rescued through a series of really odd events. And they survived quite a while in 36 degree waters.”

According to Hoffman, Dave and Barbara Anderson and Roger Walck are currently involved in their most ambitious project yet, which is Shepherd’s Canyon Retreat. He says Anderson and Walck will talk about the retreat and give out more information during the concert.

“They’ve begun a ministry called Standing Stones, which is the retreat center in the desert in Arizona. Ministers and pastors, along with their spouses, who are in crisis are offered a week’s worth of intensive counseling,” said Hoffman. “The hope is that they can be healed and renewed and begin that process.”

The Rescue Tour concert will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Salem Lutheran Church, which is located at 401 E. Military Avenue. More information can be found at www.TheFellowship.com.
