The Travel Channel to Video Segment in Beatrice

BEATRICE – Beatrice City Council members have approved an agreement with The Travel Channel LLC, Travel Channel Media, Inc. and Painless Television Inc. for videotaping of a segment for the program called “The Dead Files”.

The show about paranormal phenomena would include an episode involving southeast Nebraska.  Beatrice Public Library Director Laureen Riedesul says Travel Channel representatives have contacted her about using the library.

It’s not certain when producers and a crew for the show would be in the area.  The agreement approved by city officials grants permission to video and conduct interviews at the local library.

Monday night, city council members also approved a concession license agreement with the Beatrice Girls Softball Association for the Hannibal Park concession stand.

Elected officials saw a brief presentation about a paperless council agenda service being offered by Sparq Data Solutions, Inc. of Lincoln.  City Clerk Erin Saathoff says the electronic agenda will be more efficient.

The service will also include a public access component.
