WAYNE – The interview process has been narrowed down to four candidates for the Wayne Area Economic Development Executive Director position.
Previous Executive Director, Wes Blecke was hired on as the City Administrator for Wayne. In late June the employment opportunity was posted on the wayneworks.org website and now four candidates remain.
The remaining finalists are Garry Delano Clark, Jr. (Manager of Nebraska Opportunity Fund – Nebraska Investment Finance Authority), Luke Virgil (Economic Development Coordinator at the City of Laurel), Max Kathol (Kearney Chamber President) and Mark Buschkamp (Executive Director at Cherokee Area Economic Development).
Each candidate will meet with three different groups Thursday. The four finalists will be interviewed by the WAED Hiring Committee, tour WAED offices and the City of Wayne along with lunch as well as meet with community members.
Community members are welcome to each forum held at the Majestic Theater, located at 310 Main Street. The interview session will last 30 minutes for each candidate.
Garry Delano Clark, Jr. will be the first to meet with the community at 10 a.m., followed by Luke Virgil at 10:30 a.m., Max Kathol at 11 a.m. and Mark Buschkamp at 11:30 a.m.
