WAYNE – Family Math & Science Night will be hosted by Wayne Elementary Boosters (WEB) this week during an evening of discovery and exploration.
Wayne State College students and professors will be on hand to help engage elementary school children and adults in fun math and science activities. The Family Math & Science Night will take place on Thursday, November 9 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. located at the Wayne Elementary School gym.
Think, solve, explore and learn during the event. Families will build three-dimensionally during a polyhedral challenge along with activities featuring circuit logic and more.
The Book Swap is back at the elementary school. Make plans to bring a used book and exchange it for a different one at the end of the evening.
More information can be found by visiting wayneweb.org or contact Wayne Elementary Boosters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, the community is invited by the Wayne Green Team for a special meeting called “Compositing 101”. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 13 from 7 – 8 p.m. in the back room of Tacos N More.
This is an educational session that partners with Wayne State College.
Those who attend will learn: what materials can be safely composted?; How can you build a composter for your home use?; Where can you use your composted material in next year’s garden or landscaping? As well as how can we work together to reduce the amount of food waste sent to the landfill?
