WAYNE – A 24-year-old Wayne resident was pronounced dead after a fall from a second story egress balcony Thursday night.
According to a press release from Wayne Police Chief, Marlen Chinn, at approximately 9:43 p.m., Thursday night, 911 received a report of a seriously injured fall victim. A Providence Medical Center ambulance was dispatched and the responding police officer found Clay Block, unresponsive on the sidewalk at 401 Main Street.
A witness at the scene reported that Block had fallen from the balcony. Block was transported to Providence Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
The Wayne Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the incident and were assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
