WAYNE – The Winside Sons of the American Legion (SAL) will be holding their gun show Saturday, July 15th through Sunday, July 16th. There, attendees can take advantage of vendors from all over the state, as well as enter the Gun-A-Week raffle.
This year’s gun show will be the fifth for the Winside Roy Reed Sons of American Legion. Exhibitors can set up at the Wayne County Fairgrounds starting July 14 from 5-10 p.m. and the public is welcome to the show on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There are over 70 tables available for exhibitors, who are offering more than just firearms. Home security equipment, like cameras, will also be featured and show-goers will even have the chance to pick up personalized accessories, according to Winside Sons of American Legion Adjutant and State Senior Vice Commander, Bud Neel.
“There will be a holster maker that will make you a special holster if you’re interested in a certain type of holster,” Neel said.
If anyone is interested in setting up their own table, there are still some available. Each 8-foot table is $25. Guns will be checked at the door and loaded guns are prohibited and hand guns can’t be worn.
Admission is $4, or free for children, or if a 52-gun raffle ticket is purchased or presented. SAL uses the proceeds from raffle tickets as a fundraiser so they can give back to area causes. Winside SAL supports over 30 programs and organizations, many that provide scholarships and support veterans.
“Raffle tickets are $50 a piece, and it’s a 52-gun raffle – it’s one gun a week for a whole year,” Neel said.
Those who have won one week are still eligible to win again, and there are only 1,500 tickets available.
