NORFOLK – The Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new president and CEO.
After four years on the job in both positions, Mark Zimmerer submitted his resignation on Wednesday morning. The board’s executive committee will appoint an interim president in the next few days according to chairperson Don Wisnieski and begin searching for a permanent replacement.
Zimmerer came to the chamber post in January 2014 after serving as the Director of Occupational Health for Faith Regional Health Service in Norfolk. Wisnieski praised Zimmerer’s leadership for the past four years, citing his organization and implementation of new and successful programs for the chamber.
Zimmerer, who will be entering the financial sector according to a press release from the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, will have his last day on February 16.
