#1 Cedar Catholic Sweeps Ranked Opponent, Hartington-Newcastle Records Third Consecutive 3-0 Sweep

HARTINGTON/ALLEN – Both the Hartington High School volleyball teams were in action Thursday evening as #1 Hartington Cedar Catholic competed at home while the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats took to the road.

From Hartington, Cedar Catholic took down #7 Ponca (25-15, 25-11, 25-21) to improve to 22-0 on the season while Ponca falls back to 19-4.

Maddie Wieseler recorded a triple-double for HCC with 12 kills, 18 set assists and 10 digs. Jada Cattau and Anna Reifenrath each accounted for 11 kills while Ashley Hamilton added a double-double with 18 set assists and 13 digs. Madie Arens paced the team in digs with 17.

Hartington Cedar Catholic will next host St. Mary’s on Tuesday, October 10.

In Allen, the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats picked up their third consecutive 3-0 sweep and seventh straight win since the Creighton Invite on September 16. Hartington-Newcastle defeated Allen (27-25, 25-21, 26-24) to improve to 15-2 overall while Allen drops to 9-11.

Liby Lange posted a double-double for Hartington-Newcastle with 30 set assists and 16 digs. Kayden Jueden and Belle Harms each added 10 kills while Autumn Lammers posted a team-high 22 digs.

Hartington-Newcastle will next host Randolph on Monday, October 9.
