WAYNE – All four Wayne youth baseball teams were in action Thursday evening with a Tri-County League contest.
From the Summer Sports Complex, the Wayne White Didgets played host to Pierce White. Wayne picked up the 9-2 win to snap a two-game losing streak and now sit 2-4 overall.
Drew Reinhardt went 3-for-3 at the plate as Colson Nelson and Jace Jorgenson each accounted for two hits. Zander Liston, Payton Junck and Keegan Rubendahl all produced a hit. Liston Nelson, Reinhardt, Caden Wiese and Junck all came across the plate.
Colson Nelson pitched three innings while Devin Anderson worked the final inning for the win.
The Wayne White Didgets will next visit the Oakland Royals at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 12.
Also at home on Thursday, was the Wayne White Broncos hosting the Pierce White. Wayne picked up the win to improve to 5-1 on the season (no score reported).
Joseph Woerdemann accounted for three runs scored and one hit while Dom Dominguez added a pair of hits, including a bases clearing double. Brooks Kneifl had an inside the park home run as Easton Blecke, Ethan Bohnert and Daniel Judd each added a hit.
Next up the Wayne White Broncos will be a road contest against the Oakland Royals at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, June 12.
The Wayne Blue Didgets and Broncos took to the road in Lyons, visiting Bancroft/Lyons.
The Wayne Blue Didgets won 12-2 (correction from Friday Sports Gram) to improve to 4-2 on the season while Broncos picked up a 12-9 win to now sit 5-1 overall.
From the Wayne Blue Didgets game, Jase Dean picked up the win on the mound in three innings of work striking out eight batters. Calvin Ankeny worked the final two innings accounting for five strikeouts. Ankeny led the Blue Didget bats with two singles.
Both the Wane Blue Didgets and Broncos will host Stanton on Monday, June 12. The Didgets will start at 6 p.m. followed by the Broncos contest at 7:45 p.m.
