#22 Wayne State Volleyball Secures Back-To-Back Home Sweeps

WAYNE – Following a three-set road loss last Saturday, #22 Wayne State College has won six straight sets entering the Saturday afternoon home volleyball match with Bemidji State.

From Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College, WSC took care of business at home with a sweep over the Beavers (25-15, 25-11, 25-12). WSC improved to 10-6 (4-3 NSIC) while Bemidji State fell back to 3-12 (0-7 NSIC).

Senior Erin Gross paced the ‘Cats at the net with 13 kills and three block assists, followed by redshirt freshman Jaci Brahmer with nine kills and eight from sophomore Katie Stephens who had a team-high 10 digs.  Junior Megan Gebhardt posted 32 set assists.

WSC outhit BSU, .323 to -.032 while the ‘Cats recorded six service aces compared to four from the Beavers as well as 12 team blocks.

#22 Wayne State College will make the North Dakota trip on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7. WSC will visit University of Mary on Friday at 6 p.m. and Minot State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
