BEMIDJI, MN – For the second time this season, the Wayne State College volleyball will play three matches on the road in one week.
#22 WSC visited Bemidji State University Friday evening after coming off a four-set victory over Augustana earlier in the week on Tuesday.
Wayne State College took care of business in straight sets (25-18, 25-15, 25-9) to improve to 17-10 (10-7 NSIC) while the Beavers are now 3-23 (0-17 NSIC).
Redshirt freshman Jaci Brahmer paced WSC at the net with 11 kills, followed by a double-double from sophomore Katie Stephens with 10 kills and 15 digs as senior Erin Gross added eight kills. Junior Megan Gebhardt tacked on 29 set assists while sophomore Haley Kauth tallied 10 digs.
WSC out hit BSU, .250 to 0.010 while adding six service aces compared to none from the Beavers.
#22 Wayne State College will compete in their final regular season road match at Minnesota Crookston with a 2 p.m. start time on Saturday. WSC will close out their regular season next weekend with a pair of home NSIC matches.
