Norfolk Wins First Title in 30 Years

LINCOLN – It was all Norfolk Saturday night in Pinnacle Bank Arena as the Panthers dominated the Monarchs to win their first title in 30 years.

Norfolk and Papillion La Vista battled it out in the first quarter with the Panthers outscoring them 14-13, but the Monarchs would take a lead into halftime after outscoring Norfolk 8-6 in the 2nd.

Norfolk came out of halftime and never looked back putting up a total of 48 points in the the final half, scoring 20 in the 3rd and 28 points in the 4th Quarter. Logan Strom pulled down 17 rebounds for the Panthers with 12 points, while Lane McCallum lead all scorers with 18.

Christian Eisenhower had a strong night as well knocking down 5 field goals and 3 free throws for a total of 13 points.

With the win on Saturday, Norfolk claims their first state title since 1987.
