NORFOLK – After having Norfolk come to Hank Overin Field Friday, April 7, it was the Wayne-Wakefield baseball teams turn to make the trip to Veterans Park/Memorial Field.
During the Thursday nightcap between Norfolk and Wayne-Wakefield, the Panthers started off strong with a three-run opening inning. Wayne-Wakefield countered in third inning with three runs while adding single runs in the fourth and fifth. Norfolk only managed one more run in the fifth as the Blue Devils won 5-4 and swept the season series for the first time since 2014. Wayne-Wakefield is now 6-8 on the season while Norfolk drops back to 1-20.
Seniors Tucker Nichols and Caden Korth each recorded a pair of singles and drove in one run to lead the Blue Devils at the plate.
Senior Tyler Lutt picked up the complete game win in seven innings allowing four runs (two earned) off of four hits while striking out four batters and walking one.

Wayne-Wakefield will next host Seward on Saturday, April 22 from Hank Overin Field in Wayne. The Varsity game will start at 11 a.m. with JV to follow around 1 p.m.
Norfolk, who has lost 15 straight, will host a triangular this Saturday with Grand Island and Crete coming to town.
