Boone Central/NG Knocks Off Central City in Sub-District Semis

GRAND ISAND – The Boone Central/Newman Grove girls are still alive after taking down the top-seed in their sub-district.

The Cardinals faced No. 1 seed Central City in the C1-9 Sub-District Semifinals at Northwest on Tuesday night and defeated the Bison 44-37.

Trailing 11-2 after the first quarter Boone Central/Newman Grove responded in the second period and trailed by just two points at the halftime break. Boone Central’s Tessa Hedlund lead all scorers with 15, while Baile Reigle also hit double-digits for the Cardinals with 11.

Maddie and Gabrielle Moser both posted 11 points for Central City in the losing effort.
