HARTINGTON – Both Hartington High Schools took to the volleyball court at their respective gymnasiums Thursday evening.
For the #1 Hartington Cedar Catholic Trojans, they swept Guardian Angels Central Catholic (25-10, 25-17, 25-10). HCC remains perfect on the season at 19-0 and will visit Homer for a road triangular on Tuesday, October 3 along with Randolph. GACC falls to 5-9.
Maddie Wieseler paced HCC recording a double-double with 12 kills and 16 set assists. Anna Reifenrath and Jada Cattau each followed with seven kills. Ashely Hamilton added 19 set assists while Madie Arens led the team in digs with 13.
From the Hartington-Newcastle contest, the Wildcats swept Plainview (25-11, 25-11, 25-11) to now sit 13-2 on the season, winners of six straight while the Pirates fall to 5-13. Hartington-Newcastle will next host Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Tuesday, October 3.
Rayne Allvin and Kayden Jueden each paced the Wildcats at the net with 11 kills. Liby Lange tallied a double-double with 33 set assists and 10 digs. Belle Harms was the team leader in digs with 21 followed by Abbe Morten with 14.
