Creighton Prep Scores First 14; Rolls to Season-Opening Win

NORFOLK – You’d be hard-pressed to ask for a better start to the season if you’re a Creighton Prep basketball fan.

The Junior Jays scored the first 14 points of a 70-49 win over defending Class A state champion Norfolk on Thursday.

The preseason #1 Jays saw four players finish in double-figures, with Akol Arop and Jayden Temme each finish with 16 points.

Norfolk returned just one starter from last year’s championship team, but saw some players step up in their first games as starters. Luke Kluver finished with 16 points, while Zack James added 15.

Creighton Prep (1-0) will face Lincoln Southwest on Saturday, while Norfolk (0-1) travels to Millard North.
