Crofton Uses Huge Rebounding Edge to Beat Ponca

PONCA – Ponca got very few second chances around the rim, as Crofton out-rebounded the Indians by 23 in an 18-point win Tuesday.

Crofton began 2018 with their second straight win, 48-30. The game was tightly contested until the second quarter, when Crofton used a 10-0 run to turn a four-point lead into a 14-point advantage. The Warriors would lead by 21 at two different points in the second half.

Crofton’s inside presence dominated the glass, with the Warriors out-rebounding Ponca 38-15. Four different players had at least five rebounds for Crofton.

Both teams struggled with turnovers, with Ponca actually holding a 26-21 advantage on turnovers for the evening.

The win is Crofton’s 15th straight against Ponca. The Warriors have yet to lose to the Indians under head coach Aaron Losing.
