GENOA – Lutheran High Northeast girls and boys basketball teams were on the road Tuesday night to face Class C-2 foe Twin River.
The Lady Eagles came into the Tuesday game averaging 56 points throughout two games this season, but could not buy a bucket in the first half as Twin River held them to just nine points at halftime.
LHNE did turn things around in the second half as the Lady Eagles outscored the Twin River, 20-15, but a late push by the Titans gave them the 33-29 victory over Lutheran High.
Junior Matty Boning led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 8 points off the bench. The Lady Eagles drop to 1-2 on the season and will take on Norfolk Catholic (1-2) on Thursday, December 14.

The Lutheran High boys were red hot on Tuesday night as they were led by sophomore Jaxson Kant in a 57-32 win over Twin River.
The Eagles (3-0) trailed 16-15 at the end of the first quarter but never looked back after that as the Eagles outscored Twin River 17-0 in the 3rd quarter and only allowing 9 points in the second half.
Kant finished the night with 28 points and 6 rebounds in the dominating win, while senior’s Matt Becker and Blake Freudenberg each added 7 points.
LHNE has a week off before they play Norfolk Catholic (0-2) on Tuesday, December 12.
