Extra-Point Sets Allow Blue Devil Volleyball To Sweep Crofton

CROFTON – Looking to get back on the winning track, the Wayne High volleyball team has gone 2-3 their past five matches since the Wisner-Pilger September Classic, WHS was in action Thursday night.

On the road in Crofton, the Blue Devil volleyball team used extra points in the final two sets to sweep the Warriors (25-15, 26-24, 30-28). WHS improves to 12-10 overall while Crofton falls back to 5-11.

Freshman Lauren Pick was the team leader for WHS at the net with 12 kills followed by sophomore Emily Armstrong with another seven kills and 18 digs. Senior Kylie Hammer paced the team in digs with 24, followed by sophomore Korrina Niemann with 17 and junior Ashton Boyer tacking on 14. Sophomore Allyson Avery (20) and sophomore Erin O’Reilly (13) were the team leaders in set assists.

Wayne High is back at home on Thursday, October 12 when Battle Creek comes to town.
