WINSIDE – For only the second time this season, the Winside Wildcat volleyball team competed in a home match.
Thursday night, Wynot was in town as the Wildcats were coming off a 3-0 sweep of Niobrara/Verdigre.
Both teams went back-and-forth before Winside was crowned victorious in five sets (18-25, 25-21, 12-25, 25-18, 15-6). Winside is now 10-5 on the season, winning nine out of their last 10 matches as Wynot falls to 10-4.
Andi Bargstadt went off for a double-double with 18 kills and 19 digs for Winside at the net. Hope Cummins followed with 11 kills as Fauneil Olander added eight kills and 14 digs. Sarah Wolfe paced the team in set assists with 20 followed by Brooklyn Behmer who tacked on 17 set assists and 14 digs.
Winside is back on the road Saturday in Bloomfield for a triangular along with Randolph.
