Half Of The Weight Classes See Forfeits, Battle Creek Defeats Wayne 41-29

BATTLE CREEK – For the third time this season, the Wayne High wrestlers took part in a regular season dual while also have competed in two dual tournaments.

Thursday evening, Wayne High visited Battle Creek where only seven matches took place of the 14 weight classes. There was one double forfeit (170) along with six forfeits (182, 132 and 160 in favor of Wayne/195, 285 and 106 in favor of Battle Creek). Both teams scored 18 points from the forfeit matches.

With Battle Creek adding a 23-11 score with matches wrestled, the Braves were able to pull away from Wayne High for the 41-29 victory.

Cameron Muhs (126) of Wayne won by major decision (11-0) over Dylan Ahlman

Victor Kniesche (138) of Wayne won by major decision (10-0) over Kobe Thompson

Ty Heimes (145) of Battle Creek won by technical fall (19-3/3:47) over Isaac Cliff

Blake Heller (152) of Battle Creek won by fall (3:50) over Reid Korth.

 

The Wayne High wrestlers are back in action this weekend on Saturday, January 13 for the Schuyler Invitational.
