Late Vertin Basket Gives Hawkettes Win Over Scotus
Lexi Vertin makes a put back to give Hastings St. Cecilia a 43-42 lead with under 20 seconds to play.

HASTINGS – The Hastings St. Cecilia girls came out on the winning side of a thrilling season-opener.

The No. 5 Hawekttes led 9th-ranked Scotus by 10 in the third quarter but the Shamrocks came storming back late to take a 42-41 lead with less than 30 seconds to play.
