Lincoln Southwest Coach Jeff Rump Liked His Team’s Poise Down the Stretch

NORFOLK – Lincoln Southwest kept their poise and found answers down the stretch of their 41-37 win over Norfolk Thursday.

Whether it was Taytem Coleman hitting college-range threes with the Silver Hawks trailing in the 2nd quarter, Jaden Ferguson hitting jumper after jumper in the paint, or Hannah Kelle hitting a corner three off a broken play after Norfolk had taken the lead in the final minute, Southwest showed the mettle the displayed last year in winning the Class A state title.

Coach Jeff Rump said afterward that the team has been dealing with the weight of high expectations this year, and feels like at 6-5, Southwest is starting to find its groove.

The Silver Hawks will look for their fourth win in five games Saturday at Grand Island.
