Lincoln SW Survives Norfolk Rally to Win on the Road

NORFOLK – After watching a seven-point lead fade late, Lincoln Southwest could have folded and called it a night.

But the Silver Hawks bounced back with clutch shooting of their own late and came away with a 41-37 girls basketball road win on Tuesday.

Norfolk jumped out to a 13-6 lead after one, but LSW started hitting shots in the second, with senior Taytem Coleman hitting two big three’s and Jaden Ferguson getting going in the paint to give LSW a 25-19 halftime lead.

Southwest would stay at arms length until the fourth quarter, when Norfolk used an 8-0 run to take a 37-36 lead with 57 seconds to go. But Silver Hawk senior Hannah Kelle answered with a three-pointer off a broken play, giving Southwest a lead they not surrender the rest of the game.

The win is Southwest’s third in their last four games, while Norfolk lost their third straight.
