Norfolk Girls Upset South Sioux City on the Road

SOUTH SIOUX CITY – As expected, South Sioux City was able to use their press defense to do what they always do – force turnovers. But on Saturday, they weren’t able to convert their turnovers into points.

Norfolk’s defense held the Cardinals to a season-low point total in a 43-34 upset in the Mini-Dome on Saturday. Norfolk turned the ball over 23 times, but South Sioux shot just 20% from the field – including a season-low 3-of-26 on 2-point shots.

A big part of South Sioux’s struggles was Taylor Stoltz. The 6’1″ senior from Norfolk unofficially had eight blocked shots to go along with 13 points and ten rebounds.

The win over South Sioux ended a three-game losing streak for Norfolk, while South Sioux lost to the Panthers for the first time in four years.
