Northeast’s Schultze Named Coach of the Year

NORFOLK – Northeast Community College’s volleyball coach is being honored as among the best in the nation.

The NJCAA honored Amanda Schultze Thursday as their District C Coach of the Year.

Schultze has led the Hawks to the NJCAA national tournament in each of the last two seasons, finishing 1-2 at this year’s tournament.

Schultze was one of 16 coaches across the nation given a district coach of the year honor.

Northeast’s players are being recognized for their efforts as well. Outside hitter Monique Schafer was named to the all-conference first team in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. Sophomore Macy Stewart was selected as a second-teamer.
