WISNER – The Wayne Post 43 Junior and Senior baseball teams took to the road in Wisner Wednesday evening.
Wayne visited Wisner/Pilger/Dodge/Howells for a Junior/Senior double header.
From the Juniors contest, Wayne won 15-5 and now sit 7-4 overall. No stats have yet been reported for this game.
During the Seniors contest, Wayne Post 43 jumped out front with a two-run first inning while Wisner/Pilger/Dodge/Howells added a run in the second. Post 43 then scored three more runs in the third and a five-run fourth before giving up a run in the fourth. Wisner/Pilger/Dodge/Howells cut into the deficit with a four-run fifth inning, but Wayne Post 43 scored four more runs in the sixth to win 14-6. Wayne is now 5-1 on the season.
Payten Gamble recorded a pair of triples to go along with a three RBI performance. Tyler Lutt added two singles, a double and a RBI while Justin Dean tacked on two singles and two RBI’s. Zane Jackson also doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Lutt picked up the win in four innings allowing two earned runs off of five hits while striking out two batters. Adam Bentjen worked the final two innings allowing four earned runs off of three hits while striking out two batters and walking four.

Both the Wayne Post 43 Juniors and Seniors will next host Tekamah on Friday, June 9. The Juniors contest will start at 5:45 p.m. with the Seniors to follow at 8 p.m. from Hank Overin Field in Wayne.
