Quarter-Final Playoff Football Game Scheduled For Friday

WAYNE/BATTLE CREEK – 11-man playoff football is back in action on Friday, November 3 with only eight teams remaining in four different classes.

It’s the quarter-final round for Classes A, B, C1 and C2 football teams.

In Class C1, four northeast Nebraska teams remain from the same District. #1 Norfolk Catholic (10-0) will visit #9 Aquinas Catholic (8-1), #12 Wayne (7-3) will host #4 Wahoo (9-1) and #7 West Point-Beemer (9-1) will play at #15 Pierce (6-4) all at 7 p.m. #3 Boys Town (10-0) will also host #6 Boone Central-Newman Grove (8-2) at 7 p.m.

Class C1 playoffs

Catch the WHS vs. Wahoo game on 98.9 FM/AM 1590 The City and online at waynedailynews.com. The Blue Devils upset #12 Chadron last Friday, 30-28 while Wahoo avenged a loss from last year in the playoffs over #13 Kearney Catholic, 42-28. Join Justin Raulston with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.

In Class C2, the only area teams will face off as #1 Ponca (10-0) visits #9 Battle Creek (7-3) at 7 p.m.

Class C2 Playoffs

Join Brady Bristol and Rich Rethwisch on Big Red Country 104.9 and online at waynedailynews.com for the pregame show at 6:45 p.m. between the Indians and Braves. Ponca defeated Battle Creek on September 29 in Battle Creek, 28-20. The Braves won at #8, defending C2 champions Wilber-Clatonia (20-0) while Ponca defeated #16 Doniphan-Trumbull (44-7) last week.

Other Class C2 playoff games include #12 Yutan (7-3) vs. #4 Valentine (8-2) at 7 p.m.; #3 Arcadia-Loup City (10-0) at #11 Lincoln Lutheran (8-2) at 6:30 p.m. and #10 Central City (7-3) vs. #2 Centennial (10-0) at 7 p.m.
