St. Francis Owns Rebounding Edge to Hand Riverside First Loss

HUMPHREY – The Humphrey St. Francis girls basketball team created second chance opportunities, while preventing very few at the other end in an impressive win on Thursday.

The Flyers out-rebounded guest Riverside 39-22, en route to a 57-43 win.

St. Francis got off to a quick start thanks to freshman Allison Weidner, who exploded for 13 points in the first eight minutes.

From there, the Flyers were able to establish themselves offensively. Senior Logan Wemhoff was held without a point or rebound in the first quarter, but came back with 16 points and 15 boards over the final three quarters to help HSF hand the Chargers their first loss.

Riverside was led by Maddie Walkowiak, who hit three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
