WAYNE – If you’re an avid golfer or just play it for fun, in early June the Wayne State College CatBacker Golf Tournament is back for everyone.
Friday, June 2 will be a day for good times and help supporting Wayne State College student athletes. Proceeds from the Wayne State College CatBacker Golf Tournament benefit the WSC student athlete scholarship fund.
In a message from Athletic Director, Mike Powicki:
“In order for WSC Athletics to have success we rely on the proceeds from events like this to fund student-athlete scholarships.”
The morning will start off with registration and breakfast, omelets cooked-to-order by WSC coaches courtesy of Michael Foods from 8 – 9:15 a.m. There will be a welcome and orientation of the Wayne Country Club between 9:15 – 9:30 a.m. before golfers will shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
Lunch will be provided on the course from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. while dinner will follow back at the clubhouse from 3:30 – 5 p.m.; both provided by Pac N Save. A program and awards will then be distributed from 5 – 6 p.m.
The format of the day will be a four-person scramble with prizes awarded to the top three places in four men’s flights and top two in mixed/women’s flights.
Entry deadline is Friday, May 26.
Entry fee costs for a foursome are $440 (team plans to provide both carts), $480 (WSC will provide one cart) or $520 (WSC will provide both carts). Individual entry costs include $115 (individual plans on providing own cart) or $135 (includes ½ cart for the tournament).
Other options golfers may purchase are individual pick-a-putts for $10 or a team pick-a-putt for $40 and individual mulligans for $10 or a team mulligan for $40. There will also be an opportunity for a team to purchase a buy-a-drive for hole #16 and tee off from 100 yards out.
