NORFOLK/WYNOT – The #1 seed in Class C2 volleyball, Hartington Cedar Catholic took to the road Tuesday evening.
Like many area teams, HCC is on a road streak and when the team visited Norfolk Catholic it marked their 12th straight road game.
Cedar Catholic swept the Knights (25-12, 25-14, 25-7) to improve to 12-0 om the season while Norfolk Catholic fell to 1-6.
Anna Reifenrath, Jada Cattau and Maddie Wieseler all recorded a team-high seven kills for the Trojans. Ashley Hamilton added 16 set assists while Madie Arens tacked on 13 digs. Cattau tallied another 12 digs.
Hartington Cedar Catholic will be on the road again Thursday, September 14 when the team visits Lutheran High Northeast. Following the Stanton Tournament this weekend, the Trojans will host their first home game of the season on Tuesday, September 19 when Pierce comes to town.
Hartington-Newcastle was also on the road Tuesday evening taking on Wynot. The Wildcats picked up a five-set victory over the Blue Devils (15-25, 25-16, 25-16, 17-25, 15-10) to improve to 6-1 on the season while Wynot falls back to 3-2.
Abbe Morten and Belle Harms recorded a team-high nine kills each while Kayden Jueden added eight kills. Harms also tallied five solo blocks while Morten added another three. Liby Lange tacked on 30 set assists as Autumn Lammers led the team in digs with 16.
Hartington-Newcastle will next compete in the Creighton Tournament this Saturday, September 16.
