HOMER/HARTINGTON – Both the Hartington High School volleyball teams were in action Tuesday night as Cedar Catholic competed in a road triangular and Hartington-Newcastle was at home.
From Homer, HCC joined Randolph for their second of three triangulars on the season.
#1 in Class C2 Hartington Cedar Catholic took down Homer in the first match (25-15, 25-13) and swept Randolph in the second match (25-20, 25-6). HCC remains undefeated at 21-0 and will next host #7 Ponca on Thursday, October 5.
In the win over Homer, Jada Cattau led the Trojans at the net with seven kills and seven digs while Anna Reifenrath tacked on six kills. Ashley Hamilton and Maddie Wieseler each added 11 set assists.
During the win over Randolph, Cattau was again the team leader with seven kills as Reifenrath posted another five. Wieseler paced the team in set assists with 12 while Hamilton added seven set assists and a team-high eight digs.
From Hartington, the Wildcats played host to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. Hartington-Newcastle swept the Bears (25-19, 25-11, 25-17) to improve to 14-2 on the season, winning eight of their last nine games while LCC falls to 5-14. The Wildcats will next visit Allen on Thursday, October 5.
Abbe Morten led Hartington-Newcastle at the net with nine kills and 12 digs, followed by seven from Kayden Jueden and 11 digs as Belle Harms tacked on six kills. Liby Lange paced the team in set assists with 26 while Autumn Lammers added 14 digs.
