COLUMBUS – After sweeping a pair of matches in a road triangular to open the season, Hartington Cedar Catholic was back on the road in tourney action.
HCC competed in the Columbus Scotus Tournament Saturday.
The Trojans picked up three set victories over Columbus Scotus (21-25, 25-19, 25-13) and Bishop Neumann (23-25, 25-21, 25-21) while sweeping Pierce (25-16, 25-17).
From the win over Scotus, Jada Cattau recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs (team high) to lead HCC at the net while Anna Reifenrath added eight kills. Maddie Wieseler also recorded a double-double with 14 set assists and 12 digs. Ashley Hamilton led the team in set assists with 15.
During the victory over Bishop Neumann, both Jada Cattau and Maddie Wieseler recorded another double-double. Cattau posted a team-high in 10 kills with 10 digs while Wieseler followed with a team-high in 17 set assists and 11 digs. Madie Arens led the team in digs with 16.
Maddie Wieseler posted her third double-double in the Columbus Scotus Tournament during a two-set win over Pierce. This time she led the team in kills with 10 and had 14 set assists while Cattau followed with seven kills and seven digs. Hamilton led the team in set assists with 15 as Wieseler and Madie Arens also had seven digs.
Hartington Cedar Catholic is now 5-0 on the season and will next visit Crofton on Tuesday, September 5.
